What is the difference between WAPADH and Delta Services?
Delta Services is a program that was developed by WAPADH in response to family, staff and community input through its strategic planning process. Delta Services is a program which lends support and training to individuals interested in becoming more independent in the areas of continuing education, independent living strategies, social relationships, employment, residential choice making, and in financial/ economic responsibilities. With Delta Services, WAPADH has adopted a model program that reflects the three major components of change and growth in our consumers: the consumer, the family, and the external support system.
Who is eligible for Delta Services?
An individual must be at least 18 years old, a client of the Regional Center, have a clear commitment to community integration and have an understanding that training will occur in the community.
How does one become a consumer at Delta Services?
Delta Services accepts referrals from the Regional Center, other community agencies, and individual community members. If an individual is interested in receiving services, they should contact their Regional Center coordinator, and request that a referral packet is sent to WAPADH. Any other questions regarding referrals can be answered by Paula Anguiano by phone: (562)946-0467 ext. 422, or by email: panguiano@wapadh.com
Who funds Delta Services?
The majority of funding for Delta comes from the Regional Center System, which receives its funding from California’s Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Other funding comes from generous donations from various organizations and individuals.
What does the programming look like at Delta Services?
